Greater Fool Theory

A theory that states it is possible to make money by buying
securities, whether overvalued or not, and later selling them
at a profit because there will always be someone (a bigger or
greater fool) who is willing to pay the higher price.

Investopedia Says:
------------------------------------------------------------
When acting in accordance with the greater fool theory, an
investor buys questionable securities without any regard to
their quality, but with the hope of quickly selling them off
to another investor (the greater fool), who might also be
hoping to flip it quickly. Unfortunately, speculative bubbles
always burst eventually, leading to a rapid depreciation in
share price due to the selloff.

Armando Ducat Jr. a.k.a Jun Ducat

I made a little searching in the internet about the hostage taker Jun Ducat, here's what I found.

He has an history of helding hostages of two Roman Catholic priests in Manila in 1987 using grenades over a building contract dispute. Later on they found out that the grenades are fake.

The priests were later freed unharmed and Ducat was charged, but the case didnt go through. I think there has been no preliminary injunction about his case.

He is the CEO of the company Ducat Hand Carved Arts&Crafts, INC. it was formerly a German company, having $1 million dollars below as their annual sales. The company's website http://www.ducathandcarved.com/

He is also a Real Estate Developer, the head of Lebe Lado Construction & Development Corp.

Well this guy is rich also helping other poor people, I would continue to search records about him in my spare time. Other's consider him as a hero, my boss in our office was really amazed becuase he was very clever, Jun Ducat gained world attention. He did not need a rally permit just to voice out his opinions. I have a chat from a financial adviser from India, (well from chessmaniac while we are playing chess) "Where is the loan from World Bank, that your government has acquired for the poor people of your country?" I said to him "What loan ?"
Well I dont know about this, maybe it is why MalacaƱang is making an appeal to all, as Sec Bunye said "Dont consider Jun as a hero".

More on to this on coming days.

How My Website Became Popular

Do you have a website that is getting very little or no traffic at all? Well, I can put you on a path to changing that within the time it will take you to read this article. We will review each of the strategies you can use to promote your website, and then we will try to assimilate them into a single, uniform strategy that is both highly effective and affordable.

First of all, TV commercials, radio ads, and print advertising are very expensive. This is undoubtedly the best way to launch a business, but the costs are prohibitive. A full page ad in a prominent magazine or other publication can run as high as $50,000 per ad. TV commercials can run just as high; if the commercial runs during a popular television show or sporting event, the cost will be enormous.

So, if you do not have enough money in the coffers for traditional advertising, you need to resort to online marketing. This is not a bad thing. Offline advertising (i.e. radio, TV, print ads) is sometimes not effective. Marketing on the internet is cheaper, and if done correctly, can give you much more bang for your buck.

Obviously, the cornerstone of internet marketing is search engine submission and optimization. There are hundreds of different search engines and directories on the internet where you can submit your web site for a listing. This is fairly easy to do. Simply sign up for a monthly submission plan with a credible search engine submission service. There are literally hundreds of these submission services on the internet; you can find them by performing a search on Google.

However, be wary of submitters that claim to be able to submit your site to 75,000 search engines. Such services are scams, and they will submit your web page to FFA pages and bogus link pages that can actually get you banned from the search engines. You should only do business with submission services that submit to the major search engines and directories.

Now that we have covered submission, we need to talk about search engine optimization (SEO), which is even more important. To optimize a site, you need to maximize keyword density and optimize the positioning for the words or phrases that best characterize the subject matter of your site, and you need to use proper Meta tags so that the search engines can interpret your web pages.

If you do not know how to optimize your web site, you should search for an optimization professional on Google. Steer clear of SEO experts who want to charge $1,000 per month or more. Their goal is to bleed you dry before you figure out that they really can not help you get to the top of the rankings. Stick to providers who will optimize your site for a one-time fee.

More important than SEO is link popularity. Link popularity is the number of web sites that currently link to your site. The more inbound links you acquire, the higher your search engine ranking will be. There are more than a few ways to acquire links, but I have a certain strategy that worked well for me.

My advice to you is to write articles and press releases and submit them to article directories and press release distribution services who will then distribute your articles and press releases to other websites who will publish them and in return link back to you. Also, you can submit your site to bloggers through a popular service called Blogitive (Blogitive will get blogs to post one-way anchor text links to your site in their blog, which will greatly enhance your search engine ranking).

If you are not patient enough to wait for your search engine ranking to improve, you can attract visitors to your web site instantly by using pay-per-click advertising (PPC). With PPC, you pay a certain cost per click to have an ad for your web page run at or near the top of the search engine listings for certain keywords. This can be extremely costly and ineffective. It is not uncommon for webmasters to blow thousands of dollars on PPC advertising and make only a few sales.

The best way to promote your site, if you are actually selling something, is through an affiliate program. You need to provide an affiliate code to other online merchants so that they will place your banner on their site; every time you make a sale that resulted from an affiliate referral, the affiliate gets a commission. Some internet companies have thousands of affiliates, and get all the business they would ever need or want this way; and it costs you nothing.

To recruit affiliates, you should submit your affiliate program to as many directories as possible (there are directories where you can list your affiliate program for free). The best way to find affiliates is by listing your program on forums or message boards visited by webmasters who are looking to generate additional revenue for their online business. You will have to consult with an experienced programmer who can set up the affiliate program so that the codes used to track sales for each affiliate will work properly.

So, to summarize, you should first optimize your website and submit it to search engines. You should then begin submitting articles and press releases to article directories and press release distribution services. You should also submit your site to Blogitive so that bloggers will write a review of your site and link to it, further boosting your link popularity. You might want to join a link exchange, but trading links often proves fruitless. Also, you should set up an affiliate program. And finally, you should budget a small amount of money to spend each week on pay-per-click.

If you are persistent and use all of these methods, you will continually increase your traffic over a period of time. It will probably take approximately 3 years of performing each of the tasks outlined in this article, on a daily basis, to get where you want to be. Just stick with it and your efforts will be rewarded in the long run.

Fool’s Gold

A gold-colored mineral that is often mistaken for real gold.

Also known as Iron Pyrite.

During historical periods of gold rushes, many
less-than-knowledgeable miners would frequently believe that
they hit the motherload upon finding a huge cache of fool's gold.
Unfortunately, unlike the real stuff, fool's gold is relatively
worthless.

Bus Field Trip Hostage Crisis Jun Ducat

An armed hostage taker has gained world attention taking 26 children and 2 teachers on Wednesday. The children mostly 4-5 years old which are not accompanied by their parents were bound to go to a field trip in Tagaytay then gets nasty as their school administrator declared an hostage. The hostage drama lasted for 10 hours. My co-office mate, Bong was eagerly hearing news at our office radio hearing mostly all the details on the radio. To my belief, as I seen on late night news on TV, the hostage drama was not really detailed compared to the news aired on the radio. The hostage taker Jun Ducat has an history of hostage taking back in 1989.

I spent almost 6 hours hearing on the radio while am working at the office, from the very start of hostage taking he has good intentions for the children to finish their education. There are many comments that am hearing about the outcome of the crisis some are good and some are bad. I admire what happened as he gained world attention voicing out the true situation here in the Philippines, the news was covered by CNN, BBC and other foreign journalist. He also lambasted Manila Mayor Atienza for beautifying Roxas Blvd. rather than constructing schools and hospitals for the poor. Jun Ducat was wooing that Atienza is giving 20 pesos to the recidents of Parola,Manila and the residents was joyous in receiving it. Then came Sen. Bong Revilla to the scene as he was requested by Jun Ducat to come, as he was a personal friend and also the grandfather of his child and vice versa ("Kumpareng Buo"). In a tensed voice the Senator negotiate about the demands of Jun but he cannot promised Tertiary education, he would shoulder the childrens education expenses upto Secondary level only. Well I maybe pre-judge Sen Bong as he has shown kindness of heart, he dont want to take risks the life of his friend and also the little children which are on a bus. In my perception about the actor politician as he was a chick magnet, having relationship with many women. The latest was Ruffa Mae Quinto which have been name dropped by Lolit Solis. I've also heard about him from my co office mates that everytime they attend senate hearings, for budget presentation he would just attend the opening prayer then leave the senate.

Then came Sen Alfredo Lim, his participation on the hostage crisis was very encouraging and insightful to the situation (glad I've voted for him last 2004). He was the negotiator back then in 1989. He talked to Jun and he requested him to go home, he was interviewed what he said to Jun back then, as he said "Umuwi ka na, nasabi mo na ang gusto mong sabihin". Just simple as that after Sen Lim talked to Jun, the hostage taker said to the media that he would released the hostages by 7 o'clock.

Then another politician came it was Gov. Chavit Singson, as many people are dismayed what the hell is he doing there, what good he would add to the situation. As he was a senatorial bet for the coming May 2007 election, Gov. Chavit stated that he has been requested by certain guy from Mindanao which a friend to the an aid to Jun which is also on the bus. As I seen on ABS-CBN reporters stated that he was not requested by Jun. Well Gov. Chavit get a media milleage for that very good move indeed making credit for the situation as there's a previous announcement that Jun would release the hostages by 7 o'clock.

The situation has ended peacefully Jun released the hostages by 7 o'clock, thank God no blood has been shed. Lives have been spared.

Regret Theory

A theory that says people anticipate regret if they make a wrong choice, and take this anticipation into consideration when making decisions. Fear of regret can play a large role in dissuading or motivating someone to do something.

The Delta Force (1986)

This typical but well-made action movie, which spawned numerous sequels, means to combine the best elements of the disaster movie with the hard-boiled attributes of traditional action-adventures. When a plane is hijacked to the Middle East by Palestinian terrorists, the Pentagon calls into action the Delta Force, an elite squad of highly trained commandos led by tough guy mainstay Lee Marvin and karate-action-star Chuck Norris. Their mission is simple: to thwart the terrorists and rescue the hostages, and the plot concentrates largely on just that, as the team uses its experience and fighting skills to get the job done. Its sometimes preachy patriotic bent occasionally gets in the way of the action, and Norris is a one-dimensional figure who at times takes himself too seriously, but his rapport with easygoing veteran Marvin moves the film over some implausible rough spots. While not a groundbreaking contribution to the genre, Delta Force impresses with its straightforward tough-guy style. --Robert Lane

I've just seen this movie lately, well as it has been shown on our local television but have never a chance to watch it. The movie is fictional, i am really amazed how in 1986 be relevant as todays current events. The action is good but I dont like much Chuck Norris acting, it's an action movie after all.

Rough days

It's been a rough week for me as it started on monday all of my sites are down, eventually adsense and amazon earnings went down too. Hopefully my search engine rankings wont be down too in a couple of weeks. As my sites are becoming more popular on search engines, i think am experiencing growing pains. The good thing about it i found several good hosting providers, i would just split my sites on several hosting companies.

Also like to thank http://www.amberhost.com for fixing my problem with their best abilities as to my site went up today. Found http://www.piehosting.com offering good service at a valuable price.

Inverted Spread

A situation in which the yield difference between a longer term financial instrument and a shorter term instrument is negative. This is calculated by subtracting the longer term by the shorter term. In effect, the shorter term instrument is yielding a higher rate of return than the longer term instrument. This is in contrast to what is considered a normal market, where longer term instruments should yield higher returns to compensate for time.
